Mazzarri: “We have paid the price of eight games in 29 days”

After seeing his side lose 2-0 against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico Sunday lunchtime, Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri told Sky Italia that the gruelling schedule his team has been through took its toll in the capital. He explained that: “we have paid heavily for playing eight matches in 29 days. In the first-half we were strong but after the break, there was nothing left”.
The game turned on a controversial moment after 16 minutes when the home side took the lead through a Mauro Zarate goal. The Vesuviani were furious that the goal was allowed to stand believing that the Argentine striker had controlled the initial pass with his arm. Mazzarri stated that: “we believe the goal should have been disallowed. Zarate pushed the ball forward with his arm, but in football, you get decisions like this”. The result propels Lazio to the top of the table ahead of the big Milan derby on Sunday evening. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
