Roma’s French attacking midfielder Jeremy Menez is on the verge of a move to Ligue One outfit Paris St Germain.
Speaking to the press after the Giallorossi’s pre-season friendly victory against South Tyrol, new Roma manager Luis Enrique explained why the French international did not feature:
“Menez did not play because there is a negotiation in progress [with PSG], there was no need to take risks, and it is clear that we are evaluating operations both inbound and outbound.”
The former Monaco player grew up supporting the Parisian side so he would find it hard to turn down a move to a club now owned by an ambitious Qatari consortium.
And Enrique has a ready-made replacements available in the form of new recruits Bojan Krkic and Erik Lamela.
