Mexes in no rush to pen new deal

Philippe Mexes insists that he is in no rush to sign a new deal with AS Roma, but at the same moved swiftly to reassure the club’s supporters that there will he doesn’t envisage any problems when negotiations finally open.
The Serie A club revealed last week that they are keen for talks to begin with the Frenchmen’s representatives sooner rather than later, particularly with the 28-year-old’s current deal set to expire in the summer.
However, despite La Maggica’s eagerness to tie the player down to an extended contract, the central defender says he is no hurry.
“My relationship with the Sensi family has always been based on transparency and mutual trust,” Mexes is quoted as saying in several Italian media sources.
“I have always claimed that there is no hurry with regard to the contract. My agent is occupying himself with it. It’s a while since he has heard from the club and I know that in the next few days they will meet in Rome. I am certain that there will be no problems. Any decision made about my future will be in total harmony with the club to which I owe a lot.”
The Auxerre man has reportedly been the subject of interest from AC Milan and Manchester United in recent weeks. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
