Milan deny Mexes approach

Philippe Mexes has not already agreed to leave Roma and join Milan in the summer, according to the Rossoneri’s vice-president Adriano Galliani.
French newspaper L’Equipe claimed on Friday that Mexes, whose contract with Roma expires at the end of the season, had already signed a pre-contract deal with his club’s Serie A rivals.
However, Milan have moved swiftly to deny these reports. Galliani claimed: “No, there is no deal between Milan and the Roma defender.
“Milan don’t want to disturb either the player or Roma who are a friendly club.
“If the player decides not to stay at Roma then Milan might be interested as might many other top clubs.”

The 28-year-old centre-back has shown no indications that he will extend his stay at the capital club beyond the end of his current deal. Should he eventually decide to let his contract run down, Milan are expected to make a move.
Mexes has been identified as a possible replacement for Alessandro Nesta, whose contract also ends in the summer. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
