Moggi: Juventus need to buy defenders

Former Juventus sporting director Luciano Moggi insists that the club should be targeting defenders during the January transfer window.
The Old Lady have conceded seven goals in their last two games against Parma and Napoli, something that has not happened since 1988.
Juve have so far signed Luca Toni from Genoa and have been linked with a host of other centre forwards, but Moggi feels that it’s the other end of the pitch that requires attention.
Speaking to Gold TV, Moggi said: “The Juventus that I know cannot lose 4-1 to a team like Parma and then lose 3-0 to Napoli after only four days.
“I don’t understand why you keep talking about reinforcements in attack. Above all, Juve need defenders.
“I didn’t understand Gigi Del Neri’s decision to start with Armand Traore who was totally inadequate.
“The player should have been substituted earlier. And to think that they protested against Ciro Ferrara. Last year Juve had more points at the end of the first half of the season than they do now under Del Neri.
“A revolution wasn’t necessary. Instead of buying 12 or 13 average players, we needed three or four champions and that’s it.”

Del Neri’s men currently sit sixth in the Serie A standings, nine points adrift of leaders Milan. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
