Montella at Trigoria to discuss Roma deal

Vincenzo Montella is currently at Roma’s training ground where talks over the club’s vacant managerial position are likely to commence.
The former Roma striker, 36, is the clear favourite to become the club’s caretaker coach until the end of the season.
Just last night, Claudio Ranieri resigned from his position after a humiliating 4-3 loss to Genoa. His resignation was officially confirmed this morning by president Rosella Sensi, who claimed a replacement would be appointed imminently.
Montella has been at Trigoria all morning, and was in attendance for Roma’s defeat last night at the Marassi. His agent, Davide Lippi, was also alleged to have been present for the match, so discussions over the coach’s job may have surfaced as early as last night.
L’Aeroplanino, as Montella was affectionately known throughout his career due to his goal celebration, has been managing Roma’s under-15 side all season but has been handed the opportunity to be promoted.
His record with the youth side is excellent, having won all of his 21 matches in charge of the team.
An announcement is expected later today regarding Montella’s appointment. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
