Moratti and Benitez looking forward to Bayern clash

Massimo Moratti feels that Inter’s clash with Bayern Munich will be a reminder of last year’s achievements. But he is also wary that the German champions will be keen to avenge the defeat in Madrid.
Inter famously beat the Bavarian giants in last season’s Champions League final courtesy two goals from Diego Milito to seal a memorable treble and lift the European Cup for the first time in 45 years.
FC Hollywood are having a few problems of their own on the domestic front and are currently in sixth place, 17 points behind runaway leaders Borussia Dortmund.
“It’s an interesting draw. They’ll see it as a chance to get their revenge. A lot will depend on what shape they and we are in at that stage of the season – psychologically and physically”, said the Inter patron.
The Nerazzurri have squared off against Bayern on a few occasions already with the two teams facing each other in the Champions League group stage four seasons ago.
“We’ve faced Bayern Munich lots of times in the past, it’s almost a traditional fixture, but it’s too early to analyse it now: the games won’t be played for another couple of months.”
Journalists also questioned whether Moratti was glad to have avoided the English and Spanish teams considering Inter’s difficulties with them in the past: “Last year we beat all the English and Spanish sides we faced and Bayern in the final. This year we’ll start with Bayern. We’ll see.”
Rafa Benitez who is in Abu Dhabi at the moment and preparing his Inter team for the Club World Cup also welcomed the opportunity to take on Bayern once again.
“I think it will be interesting for the fans and for those involved in the final in Madrid last year. Bayern Munich are a strong team with a great coach.”
