Moratti apologises for Chivu on behalf of Inter

Inter President Massimo Moratti extended his apologies to Bari and Marco Rossi for Cristian Chivu’s unprovoked punch on the Galletti player during last night’s game between the two clubs.
Just beyond the hour mark in the game, Chivu caught Rossi full in the face with an intentional punch, but officials failed to spot the incident and hence prevented a certain sending off.
Speaking to journalists, Moratti spoke of the incident and joined the Romanian in offering an unqualified apology to Rossi.
“We are very sorry for the Bari player. We join ourselves in the apology made by Chivu. This is the first time that something like this has happened with Cristian. It was just a fit of rage by someone who is a good lad.”
Moratti also expressed his happiness at the 3-0 win for Inter and praised his Coach Leonardo once more, under whom Inter have won seven of their eight games and climbed to third in the standings.
“It was very important to win this match especially as the other teams had dropped points. I was counting on Leonardo. I knew he would be good, lets hope we can go on like this.”
Chivu for his part is likely to face a lengthy ban as video evidence will surely be used against the player. This puts his participation in Inter’s game with Roma on Sunday night as a major doubt. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
