Moratti: “Benitez is still the Inter Coach”

Inter President Massimo Moratti has stated that Rafael Benitez is still the manager of the Inter, at least for the moment, following a meeting with his technical directors.
The Nerazzurri patron held an important meet with some of his top officials including Sporting Director Marco Branca to supposedly decide Benitez’s future at the club.
“Benitez is still the Inter Coach. In this precise moment, he is still the manager of Inter. Unless I’m mistaken”, Moratti told journalists at the conclusion of the meeting.
He also denied that the club had already started looking for replacements for Benitez and stated they wouldn’t do so until a precise decision on the Coach’s future was taken.
“There’s no one else. I’ve heard and read about the supposed contact we’ve had with other coaches but the Club hasn’t contacted anyone and won’t until the current situation is cleared up.”
There were suggestions that ex-Milan Coach Leonardo had already agreed to take over at Inter and was on his way to Milan to finalize things, but Moratti denied any such progress.
“Leonardo? Did we speak to him this evening? Please lets not joke around. There was no marathon meeting. I had my own business to attend to and other people met among themselves.”, he told the gathered reporters with a smile. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
