Moratti: “No Rafa decision today”

Massimo Moratti has told journalists that he will not decide on Coach Rafa Benitez’s fate today and thus everyone will have to wait a bit longer to find out whether the Spaniard stays on the Inter bench.
The Nerazzurri owner had stated yesterday that Benitez’s comments were ‘inappropriate and ill-timed’. But had refused to talk on the issue anymore and he adopted a similar stance this morning.
“Just relax. I’m not going to speak today. I don’t want to create arguments with anyone”. Moratti’s words would come as little solace for Benitez who is currently away for holiday.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that the ex-Liverpool Coach is surely on his way out from Inter and ran with a headline stating “Benitez Out!”. However, no confirmation has yet arrived of this news from any quarters.
But it must be said that Moratti looks to be weighing his options very carefully as he hasn’t let anything out yet. However, he had already stated his disappointment with the results under the Spaniard on multiple occasions.
Moratti had said ‘he felt betrayed’ after Inter’s loss to Werder Bremen in the Champions League. And before that had admitted, that ’10 years ago, I would have probably sacked the Coach’ indicating that he had considered giving Benitez the chop.
His look for replacements has reportedly seen him shortlist Luciano Spalletti, Leonardo and Walter Zenga. It would be the hardest to sign Spalletti as he has a lucrative contract at Zenit St. Petersburg and only recently guided them to victory in the Russian Premier League.
On the other hand, Leonardo and Zenga do not have the wealth of experience that Moratti is supposedly seeking. There have also been suggestions that Inter may look for a stop-gap arrangement for the moment before trying to lure Pep Guardiola from Barcelona. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
