Moratti restates faith in Benitez

Inter President Massimo Moratti claims that the club and the team are unitedly backing Rafa Benitez to continue after the victory over Twente saw the Nerazzurri progress to the next round of the Champions League.
Following a few tense weeks which saw Inter go without a win for five games in all competitions, the relationship between Moratti and Benitez had been under intense speculation but the Nerazzurri patron disclosed the two shared a warm moment after yesterday’s win.
“We met in the locker room and we both had huge smiles on our face. We were happy, there was not much to say, we shook hands, worth more than words”. There had been suggestions before the game that some players were unhappy with Benitez’s management style but Moratti discarded this theory.
“The players would never say certain things. Nor would I allow them to. Cambiasso has full respect for Benitez and wants him to stay”, declared Moratti after there had been suggestions that the Argentinean had asked for the Coach to be removed.
Ironically, it was Cambiasso who scored the match winner in yesterday’s game and ‘el Cuchu’ dedicated the victory to the Coach and the Inter family as a whole: “This is a win for the Coach, who has been giving his all, just like the rest of us, but not always getting what we deserve. It’s a result for the whole Inter family who have undeservedly suffered so much”.
Benitez and his players will take the field with renewed confidence on Sunday against Parma at the Giuseppe Meazza. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
