Moratti reveals interest in Pazzini

Massimo Moratti has confirmed that Inter will try to sign a striker before the end of the transfer window and has zeroed in on Giuseppe Rossi as one of the Nerazzurri’s prime targets for the forward role.
The Sampdoria hitman has been linked with Juventus ever since former Blucerchiati coach Gigi Del Neri took over at the Bianconeri but Moratti revealed today that Inter would explore the possibility of signing the Italian.
“Pazzini is the sort of player one always watches with interest because he has a lot of quality, but we aren’t convinced we can land the deal. We are looking into it to see if there is the possibility to do something.”
Inter have announced that they are indeed on the lookout for a new striker with recurring injuries to Diego Milito and an out-of-form Goran Pandev making the team reliant on Samuel Eto’o.
At a press conference earlier in the day, Coach Leonardo expressed his admiration for Sevilla’s Luis Fabiano but mentioned he wasn’t the same player from two years ago and Moratti agreed with his manager.
“Leonardo is very careful and actively trying to understand what is needed to strengthen the team, therefore I hope I will be able to match what the necessities turn out to be.”
Inter have been repeatedly linked with a move for Udinese’s Alexis Sanchez but Moratti categorically ruled out a move for the Chilean and stated he would only be considered in the future.
“Sanchez is not a possibility for now and I don’t know if he ever will be. No doubt he is a very good player, we saw that last Sunday too, but at most he is someone that could be part of a future project.”
Ever since Leonardo’s arrival at Inter, there have been talks that the Nerazzurri will try to lure Brazilian wonderkid Ganso despite Milan announcing their intention to bring in the youngster, but Moratti feels this too will be a deal to be considered later.
“He’s a very expensive player, and I also read that Milan are considering a move for him which means we’d be getting into a never ending story. But once again this is not something that would happen now.”
The Inter patron expressed his views on the Rossoneri’s activity in the transfer market which has seen them bring in Antonio Cassano, Urby Emanuelson and Mark van Bommel in the winter, and claimed he was not afraid of it.
“I believe it is something they have had to do because of the injury situation; that is how I understand it. I am ok with Milan signing players, they are good signings, they have chosen them well, but we too have a good team and we will look around if there is anything we need.”
Moratti’s Inter produced a clean sweep at the AIC awards yesterday night as Julio Cesar, Walter Samuel, Diego Milito and former Coach Jose Mourinho all won in their respective categories and Inter were handed another award by the province of Lombardy earlier today. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
