Moratti: We have too many injuries

Massimo Moratti has cursed Inter’s injury crisis and blamed it for the team’s poor performances in recent weeks. “We are unable to compete at the same level at the moment as the other years because we have too many injuries”, the Inter patron told reporters.
Inter’s long injury list received a sizeable setback this week as Walter Samuel was ruled out for the rest of the season after a clash of knees with Brescia’s Andrea Carraciolo left the Argentine with serious ligament damage to the knee. Brazilian Maicon also suffered a calf strain and is unlikely to feature in the midweek against Lecce.
Moratti refused to pin the blame on anyone for the recent spate of injuries but confirmed the team was concerned: “When there is a change of coach and training methods, such accidents happen. We are looking at it and will try to avoid the same type of injuries.”
The Inter President also dedicated a few words to Samuel who had suffered a similar injury in 2007 that had kept him out for nine months: “We are all very sorry for what happened to Samuel. He is a great professional and a fantastic person. He didn’t deserve this .”
Inter will travel to Lecce on Wednesday with a severely depleted squad as Thiago Motta, Dejan Stankovic, McDonald Mariga, Sulley Muntari, Esteban Cambiasso and Maicon are all likely to miss out. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
