Muntari hands in Inter transfer request

Inter’s want away Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari has officially handed in a transfer request. The 26 year old has not seen much football at the Giuseppe Meazza and is hoping to secure a move away in the January transfer window.
Muntari arrived at Inter from Portsmouth in 2008 for 16 million Euros. His transfer was one of Jose Mourinho’s first purchases and much was expected from his move. Muntari was no stranger to Serie A after he made his first senior appearance for Udinese back in 2002; the Ghanaian went on to play 125 times for the Bianconeri scoring 8 goals. After the departure of the ‘Special One’ the central midfielder still seemed to be on the fringes when Rafael Benitez arrived. With Benitez’s short tenure allowing Leonardo to take over at Inter it seemed that this would be Muntari’s last chance for the Nerazzurri. However, initial seclusion from the Brazilian’s squads have left the 26 year old questioning his future.
On the 15th of January Muntari handed in an official transfer request, Inter’s technical director Marco Branca told Sky Italia?: “He has made himself available to leave as long as a team wants him and is interested in him. He is a lad who is close to us, he is a good person, even though he expresses opinions of someone who wants to play.”
Muntari is believed to be coveted by Sunderland who are keen to capture his signature. Steve Bruce is thought to be a long term admirer of the midfielder and is believed to be tabling a bid to take him to the Stadium of Light. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
