Muslera close to contract renewal and breaking his own Lazio record

Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera is close to signing a new contract with the club according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian sport’s daily claims that the 24-year-old’s representative met with club patron Claudio Lotito on Friday to finalise a deal and both parties are now close to reaching an agreement. This will be a big relief to the Uruguayan youngster who left his country’s training base in China last week when contract talks broke down.
Muslera has also set his sights on breaking his own record of consecutive clean sheets with the Biancocelesti. His current record stands at three which was achieved in season 2008/09. If Bari fails to puncture the Lazio rearguard on Sunday evening the record will be equalled and then he will have a chance to eclipse it at the Stadio Olimpico next weekend against Cagliari.
