Mutu signs for Cesena

Adrian Mutu has taken a pay cut to join Cesena in a two year deal that brings an end to his time at Fiorentina. The 32 year old has been linked to the Cavallucci Marini for some time but yesterday he eventually put pen to paper.
Speaking to Cesena’s official website Mutu said: “I am excited and cannot wait to throw myself headlong into this new adventure. I thank the president Igor Campedelli for bringing me into the middle of this ambitious project at Cesena.
“It is a club that has shown in recent years that they have clear ideas on how to achieve success and, above all, has the courage to carry them out. For this reason I accepted the proposal which reduces my wages”

The Romanian has had a chequered past with drug problems tarnishing his career at both Chelsea and Fiorentina, however, when on form he has produced world class performances. 54 goals in 112 appearances for the Viola allowed the Florentines witness some of the best form of Mutu’s career.
The former Parma man was quick to acknowledge his former club: ”I want to give my best wishes to Fiorentina also, and especially the Della Valle family, for the wonderful years we spent together. The club will always be in my heart after the wonderful experiences there.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
