Napoli in talks to sign Ruiz

Ramon Planes, director of sport at Spanish club Espanyol, has revealed that his club in talks with Napoli over the sale of highly rated defender Victor Ruiz.
The 21-year-old central defender has been one of the shining lights during Espanyol’s impressive rise to fifth position in the La Liga standings.
The Spanish under 21 international has attracted the attentions of Manchester City in recent months, but it now appears that Napoli are in pole position to capture the player’s signature.
While being by interviewed Radio CrC, Planes said: “There is no official proposal. We are in the initial phase of negotiations with Napoli.
“It’s possible that Napoli director of sport Riccardo Bigon is in Barcelona because he travels a lot. Fiorentina are also interested but it would make me happy if Victor stays in Barcelona because he is an important play.
“However, if a good offer were to arrive, it’s clear that the club would sell. In fact Espanyol are already looking for an alternative to Ruiz.”
