Nedved blasts Moratti’s Calciopoli claims

Juventus legend and now Board member Pavel Nedved has blasted Inter President Massimo Moratti’s statements which claimed that the Nerazzurri’s recent success was proof of the Calciopoli scam.
The former Czech playmaker told reporters that the Juventus of his days was always much stronger that Inter and insisted that the Bianconeri were a very strong unit that could challenge anyone.
“I don’t like talking about Calciopoli as a lot has been said already. However, as far as Moratti’s statements go, you just need to look at the names who were there on that team. When I was there, we could beat anyone including the world champions.”
Nedved who last year became a Director and a Board member suggested that the Bianconeri’s transfer activity wasn’t yet over and the Turin giants were still on the lookout for a new striker.
“No one can say that the market has closed for Juventus, as it is not for others. We are looking for a striker capable of scoring many goals, and a player that can make you win games.”
Nedved also admitted that the team was now looking at securing Champions League football as a priority and were not really thinking about the Scudetto, though they were not giving up on the idea either.
“Scudetto? It is too early to talk about it. We should not think about it. Now we must only think of collecting as many points as possible. Certainly we are a good team, and we are strong enough.
“The main objective is to qualify for the Champions League and that’s what I expect to achieve. Juve needs time, let them work because you can not do everything in six months.”

Juventus now have two difficult games coming up as they will tackle Roma on Thursday in the Coppa Italia quarter finals before facing an in-form Udinese side, fresh off defeating Inter, in the Serie A at the weekend. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
