Osvlado apologises following Lamela bust-up

Roma forward Pablo Osvaldo has apologised to teammate Erik Lamela in the aftermath of their altercation after the game against Udinese on Saturday.
Roma had contained Udinese till the 78th minute and but were left frustrated eventually losing the game by a two goal margin. During the encounter, Lamela had the opportunity to make a pass to Osvaldo, but chose to take a shot himself. According to sources, it was this incident that infuriated Osvaldo and he is rumoured to have remarked : “So now you’ve played three matches in Serie A you think you’re the big deal?”
This reportedly led to Osvaldo punching Lamela after the game, however as a result of the incident the 25-year-old was fined 50,000 euros and banned for one game following this violent incident.
Osvaldo admitted that he regrets his actions and told Il Corriere dello Sport:“I am very sorry for what happened; they are things that must remain in the locker room. After five minutes, I was sorry and I apologised to everyone. Erik is a great guy, he is very strong.”
“It’s all over, hopefully we will not talk about it anymore.”
The ban imposed by Roma will prevent Osvaldo from featuring in their game against Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi on Sunday.
