Palermo reveal Manchester City Pastore enquiry

Palermo club president Maurizio Zamparini spoke today of Manchester City’s enquiry into the availability of their playmaker Javier Pastore.
Zamparini spoke with a City representative on Monday with regard to the Argentinian midfielder. He said: “Yesterday someone from Manchester City called me. But I cannot speak English so I asked for a fax, but never heard back from them.”
The Sicilians have informed City it would take a ‘crazy’ bid for them to part with their prized asset. Despite a slip in form in recent weeks, Pastore remains a firm crowd favourite at Renzo Barbera.
The elegant 21-year-old Argentina international, who signed for the Rosanero in July 2009, is thought to have many admirers throughout Europe.
Zamparini maintains that the club would turn down any offer for Pastore, who is under contract until June 2014, yet questions remain as to how long they will realistically be able to keep their coveted star.
Palermo fought off competition for his signature from Milan and Manchester United in 2009, before Pastore agreed a five-year deal, and it is understood that ‘El Flaco’ will soon seek a new challenge.
It remains to be seen whether Pastore, who missed a penalty in Palermo’s 3-2 defeat at Inter on Sunday, will stay in Sicily beyond this season given his growing reputation.
Palermo play Juventus on Wednesday night, knowing a win can lift them above The Old Lady in the table. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
