Palombo asks to meet with Garrone over Cassano

Sampdoria captain, Angelo Palombo, has according to La Repubblica, requested a meeting with club president Riccardo Garrone. It has been reported that the tenacious midfielder is hoping to be able to reach some kind of compromise over the ongoing Antonio Cassano saga.
This debacle, which could now end up in the courts, shows no signs of reaching any conclusion and the players are obviously concerned that it is now affecting their on-pitch performances. The Blucerchiati lost to Serie A strugglers Parma on Wednesday and have been below par since the former Bari forwarded was dropped from the first team squad.
His continual public apologies have failed to appease owner Garrone, after having made insulting comments which infuriated the Sampdaoria president. He even offered to drink a glass of petrol if it meant being forgiven.
