Papadopulo appointed Torino Coach

Torino has wielded the axe on maligned Coach Franco Lerda, replacing the ex-Torino player with Giuseppe Papadopulo.
Torinofc.it has reported the coaching change, which came after the Granta’s defeat on Monday night at the hands of Vicenza, 1-0. Lerda was only hired at the start of the season, but a disappointing season for Toro sees them 18 points behind leaders Atalanta on the Serie B ladder.
Papadopulo has twelve matches to turn around a squad struggling for consistency and confidence as it deals with a demanding set of fans which believe the seven-time Scudetto winners should be in Serie A and not in the Cadetti. There is still a chance for promotion however, as Torino sits only a point off of Pescara in the final playoff place.
Papa has vast experience at a number of clubs, including Lazio, Palermo and Bologna. In addition to this, he has the know-how in the second division too, with promotions under his belt at Siena (2003) and Lecce (2008).
Torino host fellow promotion hopefuls Livorno this weekend.
