Parolo in, De Rossi and Balotelli out for Prandelli

Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli has stuck to his ‘code of ethics’ and dropped duo Daniele De Rossi and Mario Balotelli, while Marco Parolo has been called up to the team for the first time.
Italy will travel to Slovenia for their Euro 2012 qualifier this Friday night and will then play a friendly in Kiev against Ukraine the following Tuesday. has listed the squad, which has regained Alberto Gilardino, Claudio Marchisio and Davide Santon from injury. Andrea Pirlo is not available due to his own injury concern.
However, Prandelli has not budged on his disciplinary stance and after violent conduct matters in the Champions League for Roma and Europa League for Manchester City respectively, De Rossi and Balotelli must stay home.
The ex-Fiorentina tactician had hoped to field Balotelli and Antonio Cassano together but after the latter missed the last round of qualifiers due to his own banishment for disciplinary issues, it is now Balotelli’s turn.
Cesena’s Parolo last week noted he was only thinking of doing well with Cesena and that he would need to put in more than half a good season to make the step up, yet Prandelli has seen things differently.
Thiago Motta, Sebastian Giovinco and Alessandro Matri are once again called to the squad after the friendly with Germany last month.
