Pato prefers centre-forward role

Milan youngster Alexandre Pato has revealed that he prefers to play as a centre forward rather than in a deep lying attacking role.
In recent weeks a number of pundits and journalists have questioned how effective a striking partnership between the Brazilian and Zlatan Ibrahimovic can be.
There have even been some reports linking the 21-year-old with a move away from the San Siro in the summer.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Brazil’s international friendly clash with France, Pato revealed that he is happy with the club and will play were asked without complaint.
“I like playing as a centre-forward and I believe that I do well in this role,” said the former Internacional striker.
“But I do what the Coach asks of me both for Brazil and for Milan. Mano Menezes believes in me and Max Allegri does too. Then it all depends on how we play.
“I am happy. I am always happy. I must only work and stay calm.”

Pato was voted Serie A Young Footballer of the Year in 2009 as reward for his 15 goals that season.
