Pepe: Juventus overcame another hurdle

Simone Pepe claims Juventus have overcome another hurdle after downing regional rivals Novara on Sunday.
The win was secured thanks to an opener by Pepe and a first goal in just under a year for Fabio Quagliarella in the second half. It also means Juve end the year unbeaten at their new Juventus Stadium.
Juve wasted a number of chances, with Alessandro Del Piero and Emanuele Giaccherini guilty of spurning opportunities. However, the winger was focused on the intensity shown and looking ahead to visiting ex-club Udinese in midweek.
“We’ve overcome another hurdle,” he told the club’s official website. “We were perhaps less composed in front of goal, but we showed a great intensity from start to finish. Now we’ll face a really tough test against a team who play good football and know how to win.
“Udinese gave me a lot, it’s a city that is dear to me and in which I managed to break into the national side. If I’m now at Juve it’s thanks to Udinese, however we’ll do all we can go obtain a positive result.”

A win at the Stadio Friuli will ensure Juve becomes winter champions, with Milan just two points adrift at this stage.
“Perhaps they’re more technically equipped. But we’ve got great hunger and this could make the difference. Personally speaking, I’m fine but I don’t like to speak about my moment. It’s the team who help individuals to do well.”
