Pioli excited by Chievo progress

Last night’s 3-0 victory against Novara, which secured progression in the Coppa Italia has delighted Chievo Coach Stefano Pioli. The Flying Donkeys have been a revelation this season and Pioli was pleased with his team’s performance.
“I had the answer I wanted from the guys. This is not a team made by first string and reserves but rather is group of players who has always to fight for a first string jersey”, explained the 45-year old.
Pioli declared that progression wa vital for his team: “We particularly cared about passing this turn of the Coppa Italia also because the next match against Palermo will be very fascinating for us.”
In a game played in freezing temperatures and a difficult pitch, the Gialloblu came out on top through against their SerieB opponents with two goals of Pablo Granoche in the first half and one by Marcus Ariel De Paula in the second.
The Coach expressed his satisfaction with his two goalscorers: “I am happy for Granoche and De Paula finding the net. They demonstrated again what needs to be the spirit of the player who train hard for the entire week and look for visibility when is time to play.”
Chievo are currently in tenth place in the league having played a game less than the others and have already got the better of Genoa, Napoli and Inter this season.
