Pozzi facing another month on sidelines for Sampdoria

Sampdoria have been stung by the news Nicola Pozzi will remain on the sidelines for at least another month. Tuttomercatoweb.com reports the striker is struggling to overcome an injury to his right knee suffered against Juventus on January 23rd.
The No.9 recently visited a specialist in Barcelona to help alleviate the problem once and for all, which is the cause for the next stint in the recovery room.
This latest setback is frustrating for Samp Coach Domenico Di Carlo as i Blucerchiati have disappointed in front of goal this season. Giampaolo Pazzini was the Club’s leading goalscorer with six strikes, but has since moved on to Inter. Without him and Antonio Cassano, the port-city outfit are goal-shy and lacking creativity in the final third. Stefano Guberti is the current leading goalscorer, on four, with Pozzi one behind. January signings Federico Macheda and Massimo Maccarone have only one goal between them.
Since the winter break, Sampdoria have won only twice and scored a paltry five times in ten matches, including the rescheduled Derby della Lanterna. Whereas in recent seasons fighting for a European spot would be the objective, this campaign sees the Doriani hoping to avoid relegation. They currently sit in 14th position, eight points clear of the drop-zone.
