Prandelli announces Italy starting 11 for Romania game

Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has confirmed his starting 11 for Wednesday night’s friendly with Romania, and has included four debutants.
Cristian Ledesma, Lazio’s Argentinean-born midfielder, will be handed his first cap for his nationalised country. Brescia’s Alessandro Diamanti, Genoa’s Andrea Ranocchia and Palermo’s Federico Balzaretti will also play for the Azzurri for the first time.
Emiliano Viviano continues in goal in Prandelli’s largely experimental team. The youthful defence comprises of Davide Santon, Leonardo Bonucci, Ranocchia and Balzaretti. Prandelli has opted for a 4-3-3 formation, and Stefano Mauri is in midfield with Ledesma and Alberto Aquilani. Diamanti joins Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Balotelli in attack.
Prandelli told Rai television: “I want quality and fantasy from my side against Romania. I’d rather concede four or five counter-attacks than be timid going forward.
“I want answers from Rossi and Balotelli. I want to play with two movement-based strikers without a real centre-forward.
“I am expecting to see the same Balotelli that I saw in England 10 days ago. I am convinced he will do well.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
