Prandelli calls new faces for Italy friendly

Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli has called new faces to his team for the friendly against Germany this Wednesday.The squad will include Alessandro Matri, Sebastian Giovinco and Thiago Motta for the first time.
There is a question mark over the Brazilian-born midfielder with FIFA yet to state his eligibility. The match in Dortmund will see a return to the national side for Christian Maggio and Antonio Nocerino, while Gianluigi Buffon will play his first match since the 2010 World Cup.
Antonio Cassano was backed publically by the former Fiorentina Coach Prandelli during his very public issues with Sampdoria and he makes his return to the squad. Mario Balotelli and Federico Balzaretti are amongst those not called up due to injury.
The squad is together today training in Coverciano ahead of the match. This match represents a chance to impress ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifier against Slovenia on March 25.
