Prandelli: Cassano will be back when his attitude changes

Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli has finally spoken out about Antonio Cassano and his future with La Nazionale and things don’t look good for the exiled Sampdoria forward. Whereas last week Prandelli chose to play his cards carefully, ahead of the Romania friendly the tactician revealed his great disappointment with the striker.
“Cassano has created a problem for our project with La Nazionale. I can no longer continue with the ideas I had for the attack and we hope to review the options we have in the spring. For my part, I will only summon him if he shows a change in his attitude”.
These words will come as a bitter disappointment to Cassano who had hoped to revive his Azzurri career after following out with previous coach, Marcelo Lippi. Prandelli admitted he was surprised by Cassano’s behaviour as he had believed the player’s bad habits were behind him: “Antonio has put in difficulty my job. It seemed that all his problems were solved but now I don’t know what happened. I have said this many times before – he is one of those young people who need help”.
Prandelli also showed signs of support for Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone who is pursuing Cassano’s contract rescission after the player targeted a foul mouthed verbal volley at him. “I did not speak on this issue out of respect for Sampdoria and its President, we didn’t want any controversy…. I don’t know the details of what exactly happened but I must say I respect the figure of Garrone”.
This latest controversy with Cassano is likely to put another problem child Mario Balotelli in the spotlight who is expected to lead the Azzurri line against Romania and Prandelli has firmly placed his faith in the 20-year old. “Balotelli is doing well in England and I expect him to play an important role for the Azzurri. I found him smiling and with a desire to play, we all know that this is a special time in his career”. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
