Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli has reiterated his position on the behaviour of players for the national team, by saying that players must respect the shirt if they want to play for the country.
On the back of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s sending off for slapping Salvatore Aronica in Milan’s 0-0 draw with Napoli, Prandelli refused to get involved in particular cases, but presented a warning to his players.
“I won’t judge Ibrahimovic. We in the Azzurri, with our code of ethics, we are trying to promote something that should be normal. The blue shirt is important and must be respected,” Prandelli told Sky
Prandelli also revealed how he is hoping to have long-term absentees Antonio Cassano and Guiseppe Rossi fit for his Euro 2012 squad: “Rossi is recovering well, and I hope that Cassano also gets better, we hope to have both for the Euros.”
