Prandelli: “We will help Balotelli”

Azzurri Coach Cesare Prandelli has maintained his faith in turning around Mario Balotelli’s oft childish behaviour and believes that the forward will play a pivotal role in helping Italy regain it’s standing in international football.
Prandelli has always been a fan of Balotelli, but has omitted him from Italy’s European qualifier against Slovenia for breaking La Nazionale’s code of ethics, after he was sent off for Manchester City in the Europa League last week.
The Italian tactician revealed earlier that the ex-Inter man had called and apologised for his actions and sought help from him. And Prandelli believes it is only right to assist him in finding his way.
“The important thing is that Mario has admitted his mistake. He has felt this discomfort, he has repented, asked for us to help and we will be there with him to help him in his growth.”
In his exclusive interview with RaiSport, Prandelli also stated that he believes in the Italian youth system and despite admitting that Slovenia have a host of younger talent, the Italy boss is sure that a ‘new Baresi’ may soon be on his way.
“The time has come for our former champions to come and teach us football. I strongly believe in renewal. I am not surprised that Slovenia have produced this incredible bevy of young talent.
“If you plan and cultivate your idea of football, success comes along. I am sure that we can produce a ‘new Baresi’ as well. It would be great to win against Slovenia today, especially as it falls in the celebration week of Italy’s unification.”

Italy currently top their qualifying group with 10 points from their first four games, while Slovenia sit in second place, with seven points. The game between Italy and Slovenia will be broadcast live on ITV4 from 1945 GMT today. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
