Ranocchia hit by new injury set-back

Inter’s Andrea Ranocchia continues to be plague by injury as he picked up an ankle injury during a practice session on Monday. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 23-year-old will be out for the remainder of 2011.
Inter coach Claudio Ranieri had included Ranocchia in the club’s mid week fixture against Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris, but the injury sustained on Monday will keep the Italy international out for this game.
Ranocchia had been out with injury for about two months earlier this season, and these absences continue to hinder the youngster’s chances of being a first team regular at Inter.
Ranieri will remain without the services of Diego Forlan, Wesely Sneijder, Joel Obi, Jonathan and Dejan Stankovic. On a bright note, Ricky Alvarez returns to the squad, and will probably replace Coutinho in midfield.
