Reports – Mazzarri sacked by Napoli

Sky Italia are reporting that Napoli Coach Walter Mazzarri has been sacked by President Aurelio Di Laurentiis.
His sacking will come as a shock after he led to the team to third place which ensured qualification for the group stages of the Champions League.
Gianpiero Gasperini, the former Genoa Coach is said to be in the forefront to take over from Mazzarri in the coming days.
Mazzarri had been non-committal about his future till last week insisting he hadn’t met the President to discuss his future with the club, but it appears now that Di Laurentiis lost his patience with the Coach.
The Napoli patron had asked Mazzarri to publicly come out and declare his stance of allegiance to Napoli three weeks ago and it was only last Saturday that the tactician confirmed his desire to stay with the Vesuviani.
Another name also in the hat to replace Mazzarri is that of Claudio Ranieri who resigned from his post as Roma Coach in February.
