Roma could exchange Mexes for Kuyt

Corriere Dello Sport reports that Roma may be willing to do an exchange deal with Liverpool that would see French defender Philippe Mexes leave the capital for the English Premier League and Dutch international striker Dirk Kuyt arrive in the Italian capital.
Roma directors have been keeping a close eye on 30-year-old and considered making an offer for his services last summer but the asking price was too much. Now it seems the Giallorossi are open to a swap deal that would see their in demand defender Mexes make the switch to Anfield.
With potential new investors set to take over the capital club in the New Year, a player exchange deal with no cash changing hands would be most favourable. The Dutchman’s contract at Anfield is set to expire in the summer of 2012 and as yet extension talks haven’t been concluded.
It now seems a chance for the English giants to get their hands on a world class defender such as Mexes, would be an offer they could not refuse and they would be willing to part company with their forward.
