Roma insist that De Rossi is not for sale

AS Roma have insisted that Daniele De Rossi will not be leaving the club during the summer transfer window. But with just one-year remaining on his contract, a move away from the Serie A club is looking increasingly likely.
However, Roma’s director of sport Walter Sabatini has revealed that the player is not for sale and that the club is keen on tying down the Italian international to a long term deal.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Sabatini said: “De Rossi’s sale is not on the agenda, just as his contract renewal negotiations are not on the agenda for today.
“I cannot weaken the side. By selling De Rossi and then bringing in Javier Pastore or anyone else, I would still be weakening Roma. I have spoken to Daniele, we will speak with his agent and make an offer.”

The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a number of European clubs, including the Premier League trio of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea and has even been linked with Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
