Roma jeered by their own fans after Shakhtar defeat

Roma had to endure their own fans jeering them last night as the lost 2-3 at home to Shakhtar Donetsk last night. Mircea Lucescu, the Shakhtar manager was confused about the motive of the boos coming from the Roma faithful, saying: “I don’t understand. It’s difficult for them to play with this pressure. I saw a great Roma performance in the second half and nobody could’ve expected any more from them.”
Roma talisman Daniele De Rossi however had a more positive take on why their fans reacted in such a way: “It is a difficult moment in football terms, but it doesn’t take courage to do that. We went there to thank the people who came out to support us, as is right, and accepted the jeers. It is also a sign of respect for us to accept abuse from those who share with us the joys, the derby wins and great victories. We go under the Curva to celebrate, but also to get the odd jeer.”
Roma boss Claudio Ranieri said he was happy with the performance given by his team but also realised that a win in the Ukraine will be hard to get. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
