Roma terminate Adriano contract

Roma have terminated the contract of Brazilian striker Adriano.
The former Inter star spent just seven months in the Italian capital, making only five Serie A appearances for the club in the process.
The 29-year-old’s contract ran until the summer of 2013 but Roma revealed that both parties have come to an agreement to end the deal early.
A recent shoulder injury saw the centre forward return to Brazil for treatment, but failed to return to club training when ordered, prompting officials to cut short his time in Italy.
A statement released on the club’s official website read: “AS Roma S.P.A and the player Adriano Ribeiro Leite would like to inform that they have agreed to rescind the contract which was due to expire on 30 June, 2013, by mutual agreement.”
Adriano has struggled with weight issues during his time Roma, while his behaviour off the field caused many to raise concerns about his commitment to the club.
It is believed the player will now return to his homeland in a bid to continue his career.
