Roma to offer Mexes new deal

The future of Roma’s Philippe Mexes could become a little clearer over the next few days following the news that the club have opened contract negotiations with their centre back.
The French international’s current deal expires at the end of this season and Serie A giants Roma are known to be desperate to keep their man.
La Maggica coach Claudio Ranieri has revealed in recent weeks just how important Mexes is to the club and the powers that be are hoping for some positive discussions to get underway at the turn of the year.
Italian rivals AC Milan are said to be interested in taking the 28-year-old to the San Siro on a free transfer, while the defender is continually linked with a switch to England.
But Roma president Rosella Sensi has acted quickly to rebuff these rumours, telling Roma Channel: “We are negotiating a renewal. Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is a friend, but we have never spoken about Mexes.
“He is a player who I care a lot about. We are talking and hope to arrive at a renewal. I am not saying that we have renewed his contract, just that we are continuing to talk. I am tired of reading false stories about Roma.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
