Ronaldinho completes Flamengo move

Ronaldinho has officially become a Flamengo according to the Brazilian club’s website. The two-time World Player of the Year has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him with Flamengo till 2014.
Ronaldinho’s return to his homeland sparked off a bidding war amongst the top Brazilian clubs but now the defending Campeonato Brasiliero Serie A champions have completed his signing.
A statement on the club’s official website from Flanengo President Patricia Amorim read as follows:
“We are pleased to announce the hiring of Ronaldinho for the next four years. I thank the board for the discretion and wisdom throughout the negotiations. This is what I have attempted throughout my mandate.
“This project started from the first day I arrived at presidency. not only bring a player, but working conditions for all workers. I thank the legal department, Luxembourg, and mostly to the fans of Flamengo.
Every day, everywhere, people wondering about Ronaldinho, this was the fuel for us to continue these negotiations.”

Milan will receive €3 million in transfer fees for the Brazilian, while the player is expected to earn around €130,000 a week in wages.
Ronaldinho also expressed his great joy at joining up with the Mengão and stated that he would give his best for the club and try to win back a spot in the national team.
“The fans can expect a lot of love from me too after all that I’ve received here in Rio de Janeiro. The people, the fans gave me that love. Now imagine that the fans in packed stadium. They can expect my best.
