Rossi to extend Villareal stay

Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi is on the verge of extending his contract with Villareal, according to his agent.
Rossi’s excellent form this season for the Spanish club has resulted in reports linking him with a return to one of Italy’s biggest clubs, but he is settled in Spain.
Now, his agent has confirmed that Villareal will reward him with a new deal after rejecting an offer for him last summer.
Federico Pastorello told Sky Sports: “[Rossi] wants to finish the season at Villarreal. “We are renewing his contract until 2015, raising his buy-out clause from €40 million to €50m.
“Last year an English club offered €19m and it was refused. If you look at how he is playing, his assessment has increased. He’s worth at least €25m.”

The 23-year-old has scored 16 goals this season and Juventus were rumoured to be interested, but it now seems they will have to look elsewhere as Rossi has no intention of returning to Italy.
