Sabatini insists De Rossi will stay at Roma

Roma Director of football Walter Sabatini has indicated that midfielder Daniele De Rossi will not be leaving the Eternal City for pastures new this summer.
The Italian international has been linked with a move to English champions Manchester United as Sir Alex Ferguson looks to breathe new life into his team following their Champions League Final defeat to Barcelona.
The combative midfielder is yet to sign a contract extension at the Stadio Olimpico and is reportedly keen to play in the Champions League, a competition which the Giallorossi have missed out on this season.
But Sabatini, who describes De Rossi, along with club captain Francesco Totti, as a “symbol of the Giallorossi”, is bullish about De Rossi’s future stating: “I cannot weaken the side with the sale of De Rossi, who will remain with Roma. That is my wish.”
Despite Sabatini’s statements, rumours persist about the future of the Roma vice-captain with Chelsea also reportedly keen on the Italian. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
