Sampdoria confirm Cassano exit is close

Sampdoria have admitted that they are close to selling Antonio Cassano to Milan, as all the parties involved have nearly finished negotiating about the sell-on clause to Real Madrid that has held the transfer up.
The Spanish giants, who Cassano played for before Sampdoria, are due €5 million because the player is set to move on once again. The payment has delayed his impending transfer to Milan because the Rossoneri were not willing to pay it in full.
The latest reports suggest that the fee will be split into thirds and shared by Milan, Sampdoria and Cassano himself. Sampdoria sporting director Doriano Tosi admitted that this saga was almost at its end.
“We have been working on this deal for some time and we are very close to a conclusion. All you have to do is listen to the rumours that are being circulated.”
It now seems that Real will receive their money imminently, allowing Cassano to officially join Milan from Sampdoria. The 28-year-old striker is expected to travel with his new team-mates on a tour of Dubai on January 2nd, when the transfer window has opened meaning he can play for the club.
