Sampdoria players may remain in B, say agents

After the shock of relegation from Serie A, Sampdoria must pick up the pieces and look towards building their squad for a quick return to the top division.
Daniele Mannini and Stefano Guberti are looking at dropping down a division in order to make this happen, according to their agents.
I Blucerchiati lost 2-1 at home against Palermo and this, coupled with Lecce’s win at Bari, sealed relegation for the club after an eight season stay.
Mannini’s agent, Davide Lippi, spoke to regarding his client’s future. The winger is co-owned by the port-city club and Napoli but Lippi suggests Mannini is hoping to stay.
“Certainly his situation is to be assessed because he is co-owned by Napoli and Sampdoria. I must speak to the Doria directors, but I will not exclude that Mannini will want to remain.”
Meanwhile, Claudio De Nicola, who represents Guberti, was interviewed by, and rejected the idea the player, co-owned by Samp and Roma, will return to the capital.
“It is obvious that the shock is very strong, because Samp was matching its objectives. Stefano, like his teammates, is very distraught by this relegation, above all because he is aware of how the fans have suffered. He is ready to remain with the Blucerchiati if he must and do everything to help Sampdoria back to Serie A.”
It is unclear where the other players, including Captain Angelo Palombo, stand on the issue at this point in time. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
