Sampdoria team bus attacked by fans

Sampdoria’s team bus was attacked by fans after Saturday night’s 3-0 loss to Milan according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning outside Genoa’s Ace Hotel, where a small group of masked supporters hit the bus with bricks and stones, whilst also shouting death threats at the players. The windshield of the vehicle was shattered, but none of the players or staff on board were hurt.
Local police were called immediately to the scene, but as yet, no arrests have been made. Sampdoria were quick to release a statement condemning the act of hooliganism. “Sampdoria UC sharply criticises what happened. No result, however bad, should prompt such actions. The majority of Samp fans have always stood out for their strong attachment to the club and respect to all of its components. These hooligans are not real fans. We must stay united in this difficult time.”
The club’s President, Riccardo Garrone, also had his say on the matter: “This has gone beyond the tolerable. Nothing can justify an act like this. I am very sorry.”
Saturday’s loss means Sampdoria have now slid into the relegation places; and with the Blucerchiati not having won a game for over two months, things are looking bleak at the Luigi Ferraris. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
