Sampdoria to ditch hot-head Cassano?

Corriere dello Sport have reported the details of Antonio Cassano’s alleged falling-out with the Sampdoria president this week.
The controversial striker was supposedly asked to attend a dinner with the club president, Riccardo Garrone. Cassano was scheduled to receive an award at the event, but failed to show up, leaving Garrone embarrassed about his team’s star player.
On Friday morning, after the previous night’s no-show, Garrone confronted Cassano at the club’s training ground. When he wasn’t convinced by Cassano’s apology, Garrone supposedly was seen swearing about the striker.
Cassano then accidentally drove into another car as he left the training ground. Sampdoria subsequently released a statement, saying Cassano would be fined for his “gravely offensive and disrespectful behaviour”.
Sampdoria face Cesena this weekend, and Cassano may be dropped from the team due to the incident. Garrone will ultimately decide the player’s long-term future at the club, which could come as a blow to Cassano who has fallen out with several people at Roma, Real Madrid and the national team previously.
