Santa Cruz rejects Lazio loan

Unwanted Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz has rejected the chance to join Lazio on loan for the rest of the season because he will allegedly only consider a permanent transfer.
Santa Cruz has been frozen out at City, and wasn’t included in the club’s 25-man squad for the season which makes him ineligible for the Premier League.
Lazio tried to sign him last summer but a move broke down at the last moment, and now a second attempt to sign the Paraguayan on loan has also failed after the player rejected a temporary move.
Lazio released a statement saying: “We take into account Santa Cruz’s reaction and his desire to make any transfer permanent.
“We are aware of this and consider it a wise decision for him. It’s no coincidence that Lazio seek a strong rapport with their players and therefore understand his questions and ambitions.”

It is currently unclear whether the Biancocelesti will pursue a permanent deal for the 29-year-old, but they are expected to turn their attentions elsewhere.
