Inter’s full back Davide Santon has not had the easiest of times over the last two seasons. This term however, the 20-year old is hoping that this is the season in which he can win a permanent spot in the starting eleven.
Speaking to Mediaset Premium Santon spoke about the pre-season so far: “We have been busy these past twelve days, we have managed to cover a lot and played two friendlies that went well.
“Now we are preparing for the one planned for tomorrow in Rovereto, which will be the toughest of the three.”
The Italian U-21 International had to spend half of last season out on loan at Cesena but now believes that the under the new Coach he may have more of a chance to stake his claim.
Speaking of Gasperini he said: “He has settled in well. When he puts me in midfield, I feel fine. When I played in the first match against Trentino Team, I was the fourth man in midfield, while against Mezzocorona I was the fourth at the back.”
When asked if this was the season he would break into being a first team regular Santon said: “If this will be the year when I get my own back? I don’t want to comment, but I hope so.”
