Santon set for Genoa switch

Inter youngster Davide Santon could be set for a move to Genoa after seeing his career stall at the San Siro.
The Inter youth academy product burst onto the scene as an 18-year-old under Jose Mourinho’s management and showed great promise, even earning his debut international cap. However, a combination of injuries and poor form has derailed his progress in the past 18 months.
Genoa could now be ready to swoop for Santon, as Inter boss Rafa Benitez feels he would benefit from a spell away from the club. The Rossoblu are reportedly interested in taking Santon on loan until the end of the season, or possibly even co-owning him.
Genoa and Inter already co-own Andrea Ranocchia, so the future destination of this player could be a contributing factor to any negotiations about Santon.
