Schalke’s Rakitic wanted in Serie A

German club Schalke face a battle to keep their highly-rated star Ivan Rakitic at the club, as four Serie A giants intend to sign him when his contract expires in June.
Inter, Milan, Juventus and Napoli have all been credited with an interest in the creative midfielder, who may want to try his luck in another country. Schalke are understandably desperate for Rakitic to sign a new contract.
His agent Michael Urscheler said: “The renewal of the contract? It is a priority for [Schalke boss Felix] Magath, but a final decision has not been taken.
“I think in the next two weeks we will decide what to do about the future – sign a new contract or move in January or June.
“We have been talking for two months and now is the time to make a decision. Magath is waiting to see what Ivan will do.
“Are Juventus, Inter, Milan and Napoli interested in Rakitic? There are contacts with many clubs, but nothing is concrete as yet.
“Ivan is a technical player and if he were to leave Germany, the two leagues he would prefer to go to are Serie A and La Liga.”

The 22-year-old Croatian international has also been rumoured to be happy to sign a new deal with his current club, but the Serie A foursome will surely have a say in his future. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
